When visiting Seattle, I definitely felt like the mornings and evenings could use a layer, especially when closer to the water. It’s the main tip I give when people ask what to pack when going to the Pacific Northwest.
This got me thinking of Fall and the clothing transitions as the mornings and evenings get cooler elsewhere in the country.
I was shopping at Nordstrom (who graciously sponsored this post!) yesterday and saw this cute sweater. The knit is chunky yet airy with the looser weave.
First up, I love this body con dress because it has a seam at the rib cage, providing a little structure. The color is a perfect Fall transition color (it comes in several) and it has a slit that hits the thigh.
Alone it’s a great summer date night dress, but paired with the sweater and you have a whole new look!
Next, I’ve taken a classic fitted white button-down and layered it under the sweater for a crisp look. Paired with wide-leg denim and sandals with 1/2 tucked and it’s a little more relaxed.
Here are similar white button downs:
Here I’ve got it layered under a leather jacket for an extra shot of warmth as the days get cooler.
Paired with straight cropped jeans and booties and leaving it out completely brings a more polished fall look.

And right now, I’m loving it with a pair of shorts over a tank and sandals for a way to layer throughout an entire day’s temps.
Here are all of the pieces I used for the different looks:

Hope you have a wonderful Friday, and happy shopping at Nordstrom!
