Summer Dresses from Nordstrom

A week or so ago I talked about wearing a dress for no good reason. You guys, it was hot outside and I didn’t have any sort of outfit plan. I threw on a dress and Rob and I ran out the door for the big event….

…of walking our dog Lucy. ? I asked those of you on Instagram if you wear dresses because they’re comfy and easy, or if you’re just fancy. The vast majority of you said that in the summer heat, dresses are your thing- the sweats of the season.

This got me thinking that I don’t have enough summer dresses to throw on so I have been on the lookout. Of course I had to stop by Nordstrom- they always have something perfect for whatever occasion I need!

This one is by Madewell, and I fell in love the moment I saw it! It is lightweight and lined. The dress has functioning buttons that go all the way down the dress, which is perfect for those who might be breast feeding, or want to unbutton a few at the bottom to show a bit more leg.

In addition, the dress is smocked at the bodice which makes for a comfortable fit- especially suitable if you’re needing extra room for a baby inside your belly. I’m not pregnant, but I’ll take the extra room for when I have a food baby. ?

I paired it with these sandals and my trusty leather woven Madewell handbag, which also comes in brown. The straps adjust so you can wear it long or short, crossbody or slung on your shoulder.

Here are several more easy dresses for summer at Nordstrom. Weddings, walks, going out and whatever else you want to do! Summer dresses really are the new sweats!
